WHAT I DID
For Deer Hunter 2014, I worked as a Mission Designer, and an Event Designer from Region 22 to Region 28.
For the Mission Designer responsibilities, I had the job of working with the artists to help create environmental set pieces that worked well with enemy placement and player placement so that the environment is challenging, yet allows the player to have an uninhibited viewpoint of the map. On top of this, I was in charge of mission scaling and balancing, setting up weapon stats and scaling, creating the mission and trophy text, and creating test plans for the QA testers.
The specific regions I designed include: Region 22 - Siberia, Region 23 - Bayou Country, Region 24 - The Alps, Region 25 - The Amazon, Region 27 - Cloud Forest, Region 28 - Hudson Bay
For the Event Designer responsibilities, I was in charge of the majority of the events beginning with the President's Day Event, and ending with the final Christmas Event. For each event, there were 90 missions total, with 30 missions being setup for three different regions. Each event was created to include a unique feature, (e.g., flying reindeer for the Christmas Event), and to provide the players with three unique event-themed weapons. In terms of specific responsibilities, I was in charge of setting up the missions, creating balanced mission scaling, creating new layouts in the used regions to make the event more exciting, creating the event theme and story, and creating the new event feature/mechanic.
